"If you aren't playing well, the game isn't much fun. When that happens I tell myself just to go out and play as I did when I was a kid"
Thomas Watson, Sr
OPAL Audits provide an ideal framework for assessing outdoor play and learning provision, recognising where play and outdoor learning is well-supported and identifying possible areas for improvement.

The audit was developed for all education and care settings – including early childhood, out of school care, primary and secondary schools.

The audit takes approximately two hours and covers areas such as leadership & planning; access & inclusion; care & maintenance; play value; learning value; and more.

Following the audit, your organisation will receive a certificate of recognition displaying your OPAL status as well as a summary report to act as a baseline to measure any future improvements. The report will clearly outline where your strengths exist and, if relevant, any key recommendations for improvement.

Undertaking an accredited audit is a clear demonstration that you, as an organisation, are committed to providing great play and outdoor learning opportunities to enhance children’s well-being and optimising their capacity for learning.
